Pekin, Illinois – 3CON, LLC to provide 3D laser scanning and airborne imaging to Illinois towns damaged by tornado.

At approximately 11:05AM CST on Sunday, November 17, 2013, a severe weather front moving fast from west to east struck the towns of Galesburg, Pekin, N. Pekin, and Washington, Illinois. The damage to Washington, IL was severe, and resembles a war zone. State Representative Aaron Schock surveyed the damage moments after it happened, and commented that the “pavement is the only thing left”.

3CON, LLC’s President and C.E.O., Duane Redding, commented “We were very, very lucky. I received a call from Kris (Mayer) who was notified that there was a tornado on the ground in Pekin. I walked out of the front of the building and looked due west to see a funnel cloud of what had to be an F3 or F4 tornado. It literally took up the whole sky. I could see debris whirling just outside of it, and at that point I knew this was just about as bad as it could get.

The town of Washington, IL suffered a direct hit and is estimated to have lost over five hundred homes and business. Amazingly, only one fatality was reposted in the City of Washington as a result of the storm.

This storm hits close to home for us, and therefore we have mobilized efforts to assist in search/recovery, and follow up operations.
